Ottawa Energy Collective
Ottawa Energy Collective Impact is a vibrant community-led project with the aim of inspiring action to reduce the impacts of climate change while grasping opportunities for leadership in the green economy. The collective has been working since 2017 to define and refine an Ottawa-based problem more precisely, create a collectively held theory of change, and develop a collective strategic action plan that will allow Canada’s Capital to reach its ambitious climate goals.
Ottawa Energy Outlook
Supported by the City of Ottawa, SEO received funding from the Independent Electricity Service Operator (IESO) to research and document some of the great energy-focused work that individual organizations have undertaken on a mid-range scale, as well as facilitate the spread of these good ideas by disseminating the resulting information and insights. Through the production of case studies and targeted outreach to relevant organizations, we hope to celebrate the steps already taken towards sustainability and ensure that further steps continue to be taken towards sustainability by municipal departments, transit services, hospitals, and others.
Energy Cube
Sustainable Eastern Ontario launched the Energy Cube to promote sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable energies. The aim is to raise awareness of the technologies available in the industry and to maximize opportunities for community training and energy education. The cube itself is an interactive mobile display that contains a fascinating combination of energy-efficient modules and renewable energy technologies. The Energy Cube is multigenerational; it has an adult section and a children’s section creating an inclusive and revealing environment for all visitors.
