What exactly is crowdfunding? Crowdfunding is the act of raising funds through small contributions from the general public (the “crowd”) by using social media and the internet. The link to online social networking allows crowdfunders to harness the power of online communities to promote a project and increase funding opportunities. At this month’s NCENN meeting we explored how to successfully use crowdfunding platforms like Small Change Fund, FundRazr,Kickstarter and Indiegogo to raise funds and promote your organization online.
Our presenter was Paul Dombowsky, a leader in digital engagement and founder of the innovative crowd engagement platform Ideavibes. He shared how easy it is for nonprofits to create crowdsourcing campaigns that will move both organizations and communities forward!
