Sustainable Eastern Ontario

Fostering partnerships and collaborations on sustainability activities throughout Eastern Ontario.

  • “SEO has provided a learning hub through the Capacity Building Certificate Program, nurturing a professional, safe sharing environment, which building important long-term connections among grassroots environmental groups in the region. While having a lot of experience establishing and working within non-profits outside of Canada, it was additionally useful as an overview of the difference when working in Canada.”

  • “Sustainable Eastern Ontario support has led myriad concrete improvements to our operations and in our effectiveness. It led us to secure core funding for a staff person for three years, to develop a chart of accounts and bookkeeping system, to perform a board self-evaluation, and implement a plan to fill the gaps.”

A Message from the Executive Director

The year 2022-2023 has undeniably been a resounding success for Sustainable Eastern Ontario (SEO). With the National Capital Environmental NonProfit Network (NCENN), we have continued to foster strong collaboration with our valued partners, setting the stage for exemplary teamwork. However, the standout achievement of the year was the launch of the Collaborative Action Plan in partnership with the member organizations of the Francophone Network of Environmental Organizations in the National Capital (RFOECN). This ambitious plan aimed to raise awareness and engage the Francophone community in the field of sustainable development. It became the catalyst that ignited the creation of the Environmental Neighborhood Consultation Table, a hub for reflection, strategic discussions, and a dynamic gathering of environmental sector stakeholders.

Our objective is clear: to find solutions to environmental challenges exacerbated by climate change. We wish to express our deep gratitude to our partners, staff, and volunteers whose unwavering commitment contributed to the resounding success of this year.
